Adoption Policy
Before meeting our cats and kittens available for adoption, you must fill out our adoption application. Your application will be reviewed by the members of Halfway Home’s Board. Veterinary references WILL BE CALLED. We do not adopt out pets across state lines Please be sure to fill out the entire application. If your application is approved, you will be contacted within 48 hours to set up an appointment to visit.
During your visit, you will get a chance to meet all of our wonderful homeless cats and kittens. Kittens must be, at minimum, 12 weeks of age and/or have been spayed/neutered, had vaccinations for Rabies and Distemper and tested negative for Feline AIDS and Feline Leukemia. There will be no exceptions made. NO ANIMAL WILL BE ADOPTED FROM HALFWAY HOME RESCUE BEFORE IT HAS BEEN SPAYED/NEUTERED.
If you want to adopt a kitten that is not old enough to leave the shelter, a $50 deposit will hold that kitten for you.
You will receive an adoption contract and all of the medical papers for your new pet. All of the animals at Halfway Home have been examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, and are vaccinated. We request a minimum $125 adoption donation per animal to help defray veterinary expenses.
